Barbara Buchner

Global Managing Director, Climate Policy Initiative (CPI)

The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) is a multi-stakeholder platform led by CPI that brings together 60 public and private organisations. It aims to develop solutions to address the market gap in climate finance for emerging cities. The barriers that prevent cities from accessing finance are inadequate institutional frameworks, as well of a lack of capacity and creditworthiness. Among the solutions, CCFLA is working on strengthening the role of public development banks and the aggregation of projects and financing... CPI has developed an investment fund for cities that aims to facilitate the financing of medium-sized infrastructure aligned with the SDGs.
